On February 8th, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology officially released the list of national new industrialized industry demonstration bases (ninth batch). Huailai County, Zhangjiakou City was appraised as a national new industrialized demonstration base featuring data centers.

Huailai County's national new industrialized industry demonstration base featuring the "data center" feature ranked high for sufficient reasons: it is located in the capital's half-hour economy circle; multiple high-speed railways run through the region; and it has multiple national backbone network resources, 70% ratio of renewable energy; relatively cheap land and clean energy; low average annual temperature; beautiful ecological landscape, close to China's largest market for data business needs and talent highlands. Up to now, Huailai's national new industrial demonstration base featuring "data center" has provided services to many digital economic giants both home and abroad, and has become the largest data industry cluster in the Beijing area with the largest server contract and the largest operating scale.

Following Zhangbei County in the Bashang area, Huailai, Zhangjiakou City is another national new industrial demonstration base featuring "data center" industry. It also created an unprecedented example of one prefecture city with two national level demonstration zones. In recent years, Zhangjiakou has been guided by Xi Jinping's thoughts on socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, and has fully implemented the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the CPC and the 2nd and 3rd Plenary Sessions of the 19th Central Committee and the spirit of the important instructions of Chairman Xi Jinping when he visited Zhangjiakou. Decision has been made to seize a series of major opportunities such as the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the preparations for the Winter Olympics, the construction of the capital's water conservation function zone and the ecological environment support zone, the construction of national-level renewable energy demonstration zones, and the construction of the new "two wings" of Hebei. Zhangjiakou government focuses on cultivating local fast-developing leading data center companies, vigorously developing big data "core, connection, and derivation" formats, promote the development of the entire industry chain, and boldly explore the combination of "clean energy and data centers" Digital economy industry ecology. Zhangjiakou became the first prefecture-level city in the country to have two national-level data center characteristic industrial bases, and performed outstandingly for "innovative development, green development, and sustainable development."  

Huailai County is a national new industrial demonstration base featuring "data centers". It plans to develop a hyper-scale data center cluster based on the "three campuses in the same city" of Donghuayuan, Sangyuan and Cunrui. The Capital Rim · Guanting Lake Big Data Industrial Base has become the largest single data center campus in China. The Capital Rim· Sangyuan Cloud Computing Industrial Campus has officially opened and the Capital Rim· Cunrui Cloud Computing Industrial Campus is about to be put into use. At the same time, Huailai has taken a new generation of information industry as its industry leader and has continuously introduced a number of digital economy leaders such as Tencent Technology, China Telecom, China Unicom, and iSoftStone. Based on the development of Huailai County's hyper-scale data center cluster based on this foundation, it is expected that after the completion of all in 2022, a 100 billion-level digital economy industrial cluster will be cultivated.

As the first digital infrastructure company settled in Huailai, Chindata Group officially settled in Huailai County, Zhangjiakou City in March 2017.
