The rise of digital economy in China is overwhelming, and the Chinese data center operators that form the solid foundation of digital economy have cut a figure on the global stage. 

In the evening of June 4 (local time in Monaco), 2019 Datacloud Global Awards were officially announced in Monaco. The leading integrated information infrastructure operator in China, Chindata, won the Global Hyperscale Innovation Award. It is the first time in the Datacloud history that a global award is granted to a Chinese enterprise.

Datacloud Global Awards is the highest global awards focusing on cloud computing, edge computing, data center, and other key IT infrastructures. It has been carried out for 16 years, and most of the time, the awards were swept by global giants such as Microsoft, Google, Apple, Amazon, Equinix, and DRT. This year, Chindata stood out in the fierce competition with DigiPlex, CyrusOne, and AirTrunk.

This honor is awarded only to the hyperscale data center operators, architects or solution providers that have shown the greatest innovation and delivery success over the past 18 months. I didn’t expect a Chinese company to lead in the industry in terms of technical competence, executive capacity, satisfaction degree of customer clusters, 100% green energy application on a large scale, etc. Chindata has amazed the world with its New Media Big Data Industrial Base, which represented the advanced level of global hyperscale data centers,” said Philip Low, the founder & chairman of BroadGroup and sponsor of Datacloud. 

The New Media Big Data Industrial Base, winner of the Global Hyperscale Innovation Award this time, is located in Zhangjiakou, which is closely adjacent to Beijing. The Base can support customization of 40KW high-density cabinets to the maximum. Phase I with 20MW IT load was completed and delivered within 7 months, which renewed the world record of the IDC industry; the scale of Phase II is 1.5 times that of Phase I, i.e. 30MW IT load, and the construction period of which was reduced to less than 6 months; Phase III, with the scale of 20MW, is about to be put into operation; Phase IV and V has a scale of 25 MW respectively, which will ultimately deliver a new-generation hyperscale high-level green energy-saving data center with 120MW IT load. 

With this project, Chindata is providing the most rapidly developing big data company in China with overall value-added services that satisfy its elastic demand.

In fact, the award-winner New Media Big Data Industrial Base is only part of the circum-capital new generation of information technology demonstration area that is being built by Chindata.
