January 16, 2026 — HEC Group has completed the acquisition of Chindata's China business in an all-cash transaction valued at RMB 28 billion, with HEC Group acting as the lead investor. The transaction is one of the largest data center acquisitions in Asia in recent years.

Following the acquisition, Chindata's established operating platform and customer base will complement HEC Group's strengths in advanced materials and renewable energy. The two companies will collaborate to integrate industrial capabilities, data center infrastructure, and power supply, bringing industry, power, and computing planning into a more integrated framework.

Cooperation will focus on renewable energy sourcing, key materials and enabling technologies, and computing services, with the aim of providing customers with more efficient, sustainable, and reliable integrated solutions.

Looking ahead, HEC Group plans to further deepen collaboration with Chindata, supporting the development of digital infrastructure while contributing to long-term sustainability and emissions-reduction goals.
